Many beginners will often set-up at a different place from rep to rep. Being consistent in where you start will lead to consistency when you pull. Starting the set-up at a different place is like taking a different route every time you drive to work. It might make for an interesting drive, but the path will never become automatic thus taking up valuable bandwidth that could be applied elsewhere.
So what’s the solution? Learn your set-up and develop the feel of where your body needs to be in relation to the bar until it’s no longer a thought in your mind. This will happen with practice and having an extra set of eyes in the beginning won’t hurt as well.
